Our group of 10 have much enjoyed 3 successive holidays at Chalet Runca. The chalet is large, well furnished and managed by Helen and Mike who engage a couple to cook and clean. The chalet location is only a few paces from the ski bus stop and buses run at 20 min intervals throughout the day, getting you to a lift in 4/5 mins.
We have known arosa since first taking our kids there almost 30 years ago. It isn`t a large area but is ideal for families and intermediates and has extensive pretty walking areas for those who don`t ski.
Last year our children, now both married, returned the week after us and had a great time off piste skiing to Davos and Lenzerheide.
We particularly enjoy the mountain restaurants which are very good and are well located to attract walkers and skiers.

This is the third winter holiday we have had at Snowy Pockets, as well as one summer one. It is a large, comfortable home and we are always very well looked after by Helen and Mike and their team. It is a treat to have delicious meals prepared for you as well! The chalet is close to the bus stop where you can take a free bus to the slopes or ski school. A really great holiday, particularly for a large group of family or friends.

Helen and Mike are very welcoming and have everything well organised. The inhouse equipment rental combined with Mike's expertise made renting equipment cheaper and more convenient and a more personal experience. Their home has everything you'd need for a comfortable holiday and is in a good location as it's walking distance from the centre but also has a bus stop right outside which of course runs on swiss time! The village is beautiful and has ample shopping and dining venues. The skiing is varied and it's easy to ski from one area to the next and every easy to end up in the centre at the end of the day for a much needed glass of mulled wine!

“Lovely chalet” Ceri, Basel

Reviewed 2 February 2015 for a stay in December 2014
A lovely large chalet in a beautiful resort. The self-catering option was good for us, having several small children/babies. Buses were rather infrequent in low season, but it is not too far to walk into town (~15 mins with small children), to the skating rink, a swimming pool etc. The chalet is well equipped, particularly for young children with lots of toys, books and games provided, and the owners were kind enough to send a forgotten teddy home to us. The CHF100 parking fee seemed a bit unnecessary, but otherwise the price was fair.

Our second stay at spacious and very comfortable Chalet Runca . The needs of everyone were superbly catered for in a party with ages ranging from 10 months to 69 years. Meals were delicious and plentiful. Skis, boots, helmets and sledges available on site and close proximity to the ski bus enormously eased the task of introducing 4 year old twins to the, free for children, Ski school. The sauna and steam room cured any muscle aches on return from the slopes. The additional help and kindness from Helen and Mike, freely offered and given, whether to collect delayed luggage, catch early trains or even to find a lost night time tobogganist contributed to a very happy holiday for us all.

I just wished I could have stayed longer...

This is an amazing family run chalet with the BEST child care which meant my husband and I could happily leave our twin 20 month old boys to have a fabulous time while we enjoyed all the great skiing and gorgeous restaurants. We also watched horse racing on the beautiful frozen lake at the centre of lovely Arosa, sledged, sunbathed and generally had a marvellous time. The chalet is so comfortable and well equiped - the sauna and steam room are fab at the end of a long day skiing! The food was sensational with a different cake every afternoon and a special fuss made for my husband's birthday too which he loved. Our party spanned the ages of toddler to OAP and we all loved it. Arosa has much to offer for the non skier and great pistes for those who do. Chalet Runca is conveniently located so one doesn't need to carry heavy skis far and we managed to ski all the way back. I completely recommend Helen, Mike and their gorgeous children to those who fancy a fantastically comfortable and convenient chalet in a lovely resort, wonderful food, brilliant ski instruction and as much or as little freedom from your children as you'd like! Can't wait to return. Totally ACE.
